Hello and happy Friday everyone. It’s February 22, 2013, and below are this week’s updates, this weekend’s hot spots, and a few news worthy notes from around our beautiful, strange world.
Sessions in the Sun inches closer! We are in the final stages of mastering the recordings, so minutia is the order of the week. Of the thirteen (13) tracks, seven (7) have been fully mastered and we anticipate completion sometime next week. When completed, we’ll submit the release for distribution and await pressings. Our target for full release is the first day of spring. We’re getting excited! Here’s a sneak peak of a song called Sapphire: http://youtu.be/VpCJNtHBtIE Give it a listen and let us know what you think.
Hey, did you hear we were nominated for an award? Yep, Apollo Craven has been nominated in the Band/Male Musician/Rock/Pop Artist and Music Label categories by the Forsyth County Entertainment Awards. This is the third annual hosting of the awards. Check out their site and the creative work by the talented Ellen Leak and team here http://fceawards.com or here https://www.facebook.com/FCEAWARDS.
Also, for 4 weeks and counting, Apollo Craven is number 1 in the ReverbNation charts for Winston-Salem. Check this out: http://www.reverbnation.com/main/charts?artist_id=1672381&genre=Alternative&genre_geo=Local Thanks for listening and sharing our music!
Part of the Apollo Craven crew was spotted at the Garage in Winston-Salem last Friday where Aaron Burdett, The Floorboards, and Billsfault rocked the house. They will continue the trend of cool music this Friday and Saturday with Cash Bash, a 2-day tribute celebrating the life and music of “the Man in Black” which features 14 local and regional bands. But, if pyschobilly ain’t your musical genre, there’s a few other choices; there’s a Michael Jackson tribute Friday and stand-up comedy Saturday at Ziggy’s, The Business Men at the Werehouse, and The Family at 10 0 One. Hope to see you out supporting live music and local business this weekend.
Now being the stewards of health that we are, here’s some food for thought as we head into the weekend:http://www.sex.com/news/blog/2012/08/21/blowjobs-reduce-depression-in-women-and-men/; it seems this might be important info to digest.
Speaking of poor digestion, can you believe this assbag Rep Rayne Brown proposed legislation to make nipple exposure a felony late last week?!? Yep. While the rest of the world progresses, in North Carolina we’re heading back to the dark ages! Ideas like this will lead us to extinction. Think about it, if organs of excretion, as the bill calls them, weren’t errantly exposed once in a while, a vast majority of us may not even be here, lol!
Davidson County, are you really threatened by breastfeeding? North Carolina are we really scared of mother’s milk? If not, maybe you could do us all a favor and flood misRepresentative Brown’s phone lines at 919-715-0873 or 336-249-2608 and let her and her staff know that House Bill 34 is an horrendous idea, and that she is out of touch with nature and our modern world. If you live in North Carolina, consider calling your rep and letting them know that you are not in favor of House Bill 34. Seriously folks, under the guise of indecent exposure our representatives are now aiming to become the fashion police. Let’s stop them.
Finally, yesterday we were saddened by the loss of our good friend Chuck Cochran. We offer our condolences to his family. Cheers Chuck, this one’s for you old friend! We’re gonna miss you man.
